Toolstik · Sat Sep 19 · 1 min read
Freelancers and small businesses need simple invoices without subscribing to accounting software for every client.
## What to include on an invoice
- Invoice number and date - Your business name and client details - Line items with quantity and unit price - Subtotal, tax, discount, and total - Payment notes or terms (optional)
The Invoice Generator includes all of these with a live preview as you type.
## Step-by-step
1. Enter invoice number and date. 2. Fill in **From** (your business) and **Bill to** (client). 3. Add line items — click **Add line item** for multiple services. 4. Set tax rate and discount if applicable. 5. Click **Generate PDF** and download.
## Tips for freelancers
- Use consistent invoice numbering (INV-001, INV-002, …). - Include due date in notes until a dedicated due-date field ships in templates. - Pair with the Profit Margin Calculator to price services profitably.
Invoices are generated locally — your client data stays on your device.
