Toolstik's free SEO and text tools cover the small, repeatable jobs around publishing a page: counting words, turning a headline into a URL slug, checking your meta title and description, generating JSON-LD structured data, and building UTM links for campaigns. All five run in your browser with no sign-up, and nothing you type is uploaded. Start with the Meta Title & Description Checker, or jump to the tool you need below.

A publishing workflow that uses all five

These tools work best in order, from first draft to promotion. Here's the workflow for a typical blog post or product page.

1. Check the length of your draft

Paste your draft into the Word Counter. It shows Words, Characters, Characters (no spaces), Sentences, Paragraphs, Lines, Reading time, and Speaking time as you type. Reading time is based on 238 words per minute, so a 1,500-word article shows about 6 minutes 18 seconds.

The Top keywords list shows up to 10 of your most repeated words, leaving out short words and common filler like "the" and "and". It's a quick way to spot a term you've used too often. Treat it as an editing aid, not a target: there's no keyword density that guarantees rankings.

2. Turn the headline into a clean URL slug

Paste the headline into the Case & Slug Converter and copy the URL slug output. It removes accents, lowercases everything, turns "&" into "and", drops apostrophes, joins words with single hyphens, and caps the length at 80 characters. "Café Menu & Prices 2026" becomes cafe-menu-and-prices-2026.

Google's URL structure guidelines recommend readable words separated by hyphens rather than underscores, which is exactly the format this produces. The tool keeps every word, so you may want to shorten long slugs by hand.

3. Write the title tag and meta description

In the Meta Title & Description Checker, type your Title tag and Meta description. The meters turn green for titles of 30–60 characters and descriptions of 70–160 characters, and the Search result preview shows roughly where the text might be cut off. Add a Page URL (optional) to include a canonical link and og:url, and a Social image URL (optional) to get a large-image Twitter card. Then copy the HTML meta tags.

Keep two things in mind. First, Google truncates titles by pixel width (about 600px), not by character count, so the limits are guidance. Second, Google may rewrite titles and descriptions when it thinks other text on the page fits the search better. Google has also said meta descriptions aren't a direct ranking factor. Their job is to earn the click.

4. Add structured data

The Schema Markup Generator has four tabs: FAQ, Article, Organization, and Product. Fill in the fields (required ones are marked with *), and copy the JSON-LD script into your page. If something is missing, a Missing information message explains what to fix, such as "Price must be a number like 19.99 (no currency symbol)."

Be realistic about what this achieves. Structured data helps search engines and other machines understand your page, but it doesn't guarantee rich results. Since August 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known, authoritative government and health sites, and HowTo rich results were deprecated. Markup must also match content people can see on the page. Test your live page with Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator.

5. Promote it with tagged links

When you share the page in a newsletter, ad, or social post, build a tracked link with the UTM Link Builder. Enter the Website URL, then the required Campaign source, Campaign medium, and Campaign name. Add Campaign ID, Campaign term, or Campaign content if you need them.

The toggle Lowercase values and replace spaces with hyphens is on by default, because GA4 treats Email and email as different values. For example, https://toolstik.com/tools/merge-pdf with source Newsletter, medium email, and campaign Spring Sale 2026 becomes:

https://toolstik.com/tools/merge-pdf?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=spring-sale-2026

Use UTM tags only on links from outside your site. Tagging your own internal links overwrites the visitor's real traffic source.

Quick checklist before you publish

  1. The draft meets its word or character limit, and no keyword is repeated awkwardly.
  2. The slug is lowercase, hyphenated, and short enough to read at a glance.
  3. The title tag and meta description meters are green, or you've decided the extra length is worth it.
  4. Any structured data matches what's visible on the page and passes the Rich Results Test or Schema Markup Validator.
  5. Every external campaign link has consistent, lowercase UTM values, and no internal links are tagged.

What these tools don't do

It's worth being clear about the limits so you pick the right tool for the job:

  • No site crawling or audits. The tools work on text you paste. They don't fetch your pages, scan for broken links, or check a whole site.
  • No rank tracking or keyword volumes. For search performance data, use Google Search Console.
  • No pixel-exact SERP measurement. The meta checker uses character counts as a guide to Google's pixel-based truncation.
  • No bulk mode. Each tool handles one text, title, link, or schema at a time.
  • No link shortening or click tracking. The UTM builder creates the URL, and your analytics tool measures visits.

Alternatives worth knowing

Each Toolstik tool has a well-known alternative, and it's fine to use them together:

  • Word counts: Google Docs (Tools > Word count) and the Microsoft Word status bar.
  • Campaign links: Google's GA4 Campaign URL Builder.
  • Structured data testing: Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator. These test markup, while the Toolstik generator creates it.
  • Titles and descriptions: SEO plugins built into your CMS often include a snippet editor.

Toolstik is handiest when you're working in a browser and want a quick, private answer without opening another app or signing in.

Good habits that matter more than any tool

  • Write for people first. A clear title and a useful page do more than any single tag.
  • Keep everything consistent. Use one slug style, one UTM naming convention, and one title format, such as "Topic – Benefit | Brand".
  • Make markup match the page. Titles, descriptions, and structured data should describe what's actually there.
  • Change live URLs carefully. If you rename a slug, add a 301 redirect from the old URL.
  • Recheck after publishing. Search for your page once it's indexed to see the title and snippet Google actually uses.

Privacy

All five SEO and text tools process your input locally in the browser. Drafts, unpublished titles, campaign names, and product details aren't uploaded to Toolstik servers, so it's safe to use them with client work and pre-launch content.
